Deputy Prime Minister, member of the Politburo Truong Hoa Binh September 10 attended the program “Thap sang uoc mo” (Lightening dreams) organized by the Vietnam Association for Protection of Children's Rights (VAPCR) in Ho Chi Minh City
Deputy PM Binh stressed that disadvantaged kids should be taken care of by the society. Grass-root governments and the community should encourage them, especially those from low-income families and those in distant districts, border crossings and islands to overcome their difficulties.
On the new academic year, the deputy PM wished them to study well and follow Uncle Ho’s teaching and a warm moon cake season.
The program was held in order to review charity activities for children in the period 2014-2016 as well as honor those who have tried their best in studying and living despite of their difficult conditions.
On the occasion, the program organizer presented 30 saving bank books each worth VND5 million; 32 scholarships each worth VND3 million and 250 gifts of studying items to need children and children of soldiers in several disadvantaged provinces.
Since 2014, the program has mobilize benefactors to give 500 saving bank books and thousands of presents to poor children and children in remote districts and children of soldiers who stationed in border crossings nationwide.
