Letters, drawings sent to soldiers on Truong Sa Islands for Tet

This is the second time the newspaper has sent letters and drawings of junior students from Districts 6, 8, Binh Chanh, Go Vap, Can  Gio and Binh Thanh to the Navy Commander in the South who will transfer these letters to soldiers in Truong Sa Islands.

Ten departments of education and training in Ho Chi Minh City launched the two programs ‘Thu Xuan Gui Bien Dao’ (Spring Letter to Islands) and ‘Chung Tay Vi Ban Nho Bien Dao Den Truong’ (Join hands to help friends on Islands to go to school).

Junior students in HCMC have written 31,983 letters and made 5,316 drawings to soldiers.

They also contributed more than VND450 million (US$21,375) to help friends on the island to go to schools.

As scheduled, Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper will accompany the naval soldiers to send letters to islands from January 2 to 16. The delegation will give 10 scholarships to poor and good students on the Islands and present gifts to soldiers.
