Leaders pay tribute to war veterans

President Truong Tan Sang on August 17 paid a visit to war veterans of the Division 308 of the Army Corps 1 and the Division 3 of the Military Zone 1 on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of August Revolution and National Day (September 2).

President Truong Tan Sang and delegates recalled the glorious traditional history, memories and milestones of the divisions during the resistance war.

The President praised and highly appreciated victory and success by officers and soldiers of the divisions as well as commemorating martyrs and paying tribute to the martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for national independence, unification.

He has urged war veterans of the units to continue following President Ho’s example, take part in the government building, and make contribution to the tasks of the Party.

On the day, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Le Ba Trinh visited war veteran Nguyen Van Tran in Hanoi. The 100-year-old man was Secretary of the Northern Region Party Committee and former Secretary of Ha Noi Party Committee.
