Kon Tum Province to verify quality of hydropower dam

The investor of the Dak Mek 3 Hydropower Plant has still not reported the breach to concerned authorities in the province and is even denying such an incident took place.

After learning of the incident from local residents and the media, the provincial People’s Committee has instructed relevant departments to investigate the incident.

An inspectorate led by Mr. Cu has already surveyed the area where the dam breach occurred and has asked the investor to submit documents proving the quality of the dam to the Department of Construction by December 8.

Mr. Cu said that he will send his report on this incident to the provincial People’s Committee on November 28 and has asked for qualified experts to verify the quality of the Dak Mek 3 Hydropower Plant dam.
