Japanese submarine conducts first drill in Vietnam

The Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force's submarine Kuroshio anchored for the first time at Cam Ranh international port in the central province of Khanh Hoa on September 17, beginning the five-day visit to Vietnam.

The ship crew led by Captain UetaYasuteru, commander of Submarine Unit No.1, paid a courtesy visits to leaders of the People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa province and took part in exchanges with Vietnamese soldiers of the Naval Region 4 Command.
The visit aims to mark the 45th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations enhance mutual trust and understanding between the Vietnam People’s Navy and the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force as well as deepen Japan-Vietnam defense collaboration and contribute to maintain peace, stability and cooperation in the region.
