Representatives from the Vietnam Marine Police High Command, the Da Nang Military High Command, the Da Nang Border Guard High Command, the municipal Department For Foreign Affairs,  the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre Region II and Embassy of Japan in Vietnam received the Japanese guests.

The ship’s crew will take part in exchange experiences on search and rescue works at sea with the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre Region II and Marine Police Vessels of Coast Guard Region 2 in Da Nang.

The 5-day visit will contribute to strengthening international cooperation between Vietnam Marine Police and Japanese Coast Guard; and foster cooperation, mutual understanding and trust between the two nations’ marine law enforcement.

The ship Yashima is 130 meters long, 15.5 meters wide and 8.8 meters tall, with its capacity of 130 crew members It has a full load of 5,200 tons and a displacement of more than 6,000 tons. The vessel is equipped with a 35 mm gun, a 20mm Vulcan gun, a Bell 412 helicopter and many advanced maritime radar systems.

Two other ships from the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, JS Kirisame (DD104) and JS Asayuki (DD132), carrying 500 crew members on board visited Da Nang on April 16-19.
