The information was announced at a press conference on the threshold of the association’s fifth national congress, which will convene on April 14.

The congress will review activities of the association in the past five years and set tasks for the upcoming five-year tenure.

As part of the event, an exchange program, themed “One Heart-One World”, will take place to draw attention to the care of disadvantaged people.

Vietnam is making efforts to ensure the rights of the disabled, who account for 7.8 percent of the country’s population.

The group has been tackling challenges in exercising their right to work, including access to employment opportunities and discrimination in the workplace.
