HCMC’s blood donor day collects 1,500 blood units

A blood donor day collected 1,500 blood units was held at Ho Chi Minh City Labor Culture Palace on June 22.

The event is part of the 6th ‘Red Journey’ campaign which has been launched in 26 cities and provinces nationwide from June 13 to July 14 and is expected to collect about 300,000 blood units.
According to deputy head of the organization board, the campaign took place in the provinces of Ca Mau, Kien Giang, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Can Tho, Lam Dong and Dak Lak and collected more than 7,500 blood units.
The blood donation movement is also to raise the community's awareness about the importance of donating blood and the need for blood as well as meet the increasing demand for blood for emergency aid and treatment in summer.
