HCMC strengthens cooperation relationship with Lao localities

Lao Deputy Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone led a high- ranking delegation of the Lao Government to visit Ho Chi Minh City and meet Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan yesterday evening.

On behalf of the city’s Communist Party Unit, authorities and residents, Secretary Nguyen Thien Nhan welcomed the visit in the context of the 55th establishment anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Laos (September 5, 1962- 2017) and the 40th anniversary of Friendship and Cooperation Treaty between the two countries (July 18, 1977- 2017).

 

At the meeting, the city’s Party chief reported the cooperation investment between Ho Chi Minh City and Lao localities.

Since the beginning of the year, the city welcomed eight delegations from Lao provinces, especially visits of the Lao National Assembly Speaker and Prime Minister.

 

Secretary Nguyen Thien Nhan strongly affirmed that city leaders would make their efforts in promoting relationship between Ho Chi Minh City and Lao localities as well as developing the traditional friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.  

 

On the occasion, the city Party chief sent the best wishes to the high- ranking delegation.

Lao leader Sonexay Siphandone said that the visit focused on sharing experience about investment management, commodity production, internet management, agriculture and trade.

 

In addition, Mr. Sonexay Siphandone hoped that not only city’s leaders would continue supporting localities of his country to strengthen cooperation and investment with Ho Chi Minh City but also city’s enterprises would continue investing into Lao provinces.
