Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union organized a solemn ceremony on January 1 to honor six among 64 young citizens in 2015.

Attending in the event were former State President Truong My Hoa, Deputy Standing Secretary of HCMC Party Committee Vo Van Thuong, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong, Deputy Secretary of HCMC Party Committee Tat Thanh Cang, Chairwoman of the HCMC People’s Coucil Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam, Secretary of the Central Youth Union in Ho Chi Minh City Le Quoc Phong.
The outstanding individuals, who are workers, students and armed forces having great achievements as well as contributions in the city’s education, technology, culture and arts, armed forces and social work sectors.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong appreciated highly contributions & achievements as well as praised efforts of the outstanding individuals, hoping that they will continue to prove one’s ability in working and studying progress.
Here is list of six outstanding young citizens in 2015:
1. Vo Thanh Cong, a police of HCMC Fire Prevention and Fighting Police and. He and his team found 100 bodies of the victims contributing to supply for criminal investigation information.
2. Dam Nguyen Trong Nhan, who is a research student of the HCMC University of Science under National University, won the second and third prizes in ACM- ICPC Contest.
3. Nguyen Thi Mong Quynh, the 12th grader from Nguyen Hue High School, grabbed gold medals in International, Asian and Southeast Asian Taekwondo Championships respectively.
4. Dinh Xuan Tan, an engineer of Saigon Transport Corporation, had technological achievements and initiatives.
5. Vo Ha Tram, a young singer owned valuable music awards and often tour and perform at Spratly Island.
6. Tran Quoc Trung is a lecture of the HCMC University of Foreign Trade. This is the six uninterrupted years that the young teacher has been honored at this event.
