A delegation of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee led by Than Thi Thu, member of the Standing Committee and head of the Department of Propaganda and Training, on January 10 visited and gave gifts to poor residents in Quang Ngai Province.
On the behalf of the delegation, Mrs. Thu gave VND1.5 billion which was contributed by public servants in Ho Chi Minh City to the Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Ngai Province to timely support flood-hit victims in the province.
On the same day, the delegation also visited and gave 400 gift packages worth VND500,000 each to residents in Hanh Thuan Commune in Nghia Hanh District, and Tinh An Dong Commune in Son Tinh District.
The Poor Veteran Support Fund of Ho Chi Minh City and some businesses visited and gave 1,000 gift packages worth VND1 million each and 10 tons of rice to poor households and coastguards on Ly Son Island.
In related news, a delegation from High Command of Military Zone 4 and leaders of the People’s Committee of Quang Tri Province and provincial Military Headquarter visited to check on socioeconomic situation and preparation for Lunar New Year celebration of officers and residents on Con Co Island District.
The High Command of Military Zone 4 offered 25 gift packages, the People’s Committee of Quang Tri Province gave 12, and provincial Military Headquarter gave 5 to units in the island.
