HCMC celebrates Singapore’s 51st National Day

The Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organization (HUFO) and the Vietnam-Singapore Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City yesterday celebrated the 51st anniversary of Singapore National Day (on August 9th, 1965- 2016).

Vice Chairman of Vietnam- Singapore Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City Mr. Dinh Khac Duy reported at the anniversary that the association has collaborated with Singaporean agencies in the chapter to organize many political, diplomatic events and culture & sport exchange programs.
 
Consulate General of Republic of Singapore in Ho Chi Minh City Mrs. Leow Siu Lin said: "Singapore is currently the Vietnam's ninth largest trading partner, and ranked first among foreign investors in Ho Chi Minh City with total investment capital of US$ 9, 4 million by June, 2016".
 
Last year, around 418, 000 Vietnamese tourists arrived in Singapore, and 236, 000 Singaporean people traveled in Vietnam.
 
More than 15, 000 Vietnamese officials participated in training courses of trade promotion and tourism management in English in the Lion city. At present, around 4, 000 Vietnamese students and pupils are studying in Singapore.
