Hanoi inaugurates the statue of Professor Juan Bosch

The inaugural ceremony of the statue of Professor Juan Bosch (1909-2001) was held at Hoa Binh Park in Hanoi on August 28.

Attending at the event were President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s Central Committee Tran Thanh Man and General Secretary of the United Left Movement (MIU) and Minister for Regional Integration Policies of the Dominican Republic, Miguel Mejia.
Speaking at the event, President of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front (VFF) Tran Thanh Man highlighted the significance of culture and policy which contributed to the relationship and solidarity between Vietnam and Dominican Republic.
Professor Juan Bosch was known for spending his time on fighting for democracy and laborers’ right, the freedom and human rights.
His writings praised the resilience of the Vietnamese people and affirmed his belief of the leadership of the late President Ho Chi Minh.
For his part, General Secretary of the United Left Movement (MIU) and Minister for Regional Integration Policies of the Dominican Republic, Miguel Mejia expressed his thanks for the recognition of the outstanding contribution and international missions for freedom and independence of Professor Juan Bosch to the Vietnamese Party, State and People.
