Vietnamese young talents are patriotic, self-reliant, enthusiastic, creative and have a sense of responsibility to their people and country, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union said September 13.
At a congress of young talents in Hanoi, the union, however, also said some were happy at reaching certain standards but did not try to improve, as well as lacking modesty.
To improve discover, commend, and develop young talent, the union presented some solutions, including diversifying and enhancing quality of aptitude and talent competitions for teenagers, upgrading children houses and youth centers and renew operations of young creativeness clubs.
Speaking at the congress, Ho Duc Viet, Politburo member and head of the Party Central Commission for Organization, praised the excellent contributions of Vietnamese young talent in developing the country.
He also praised the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s creativeness in proposing and organizing revolutionary action movements for the youth, in general, and young talent, in particular.
The congress also introduced a sponsorship council for Vietnamese talented young people. The council will be chaired by former Deputy Prime Minister Vu Khoan.
