Gov’t allots $140 mil to climate change projects

The Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has agreed to allot VND3 trillion (US$140.45 million) to climate change adaptation projects this year.

The capital will go to 16 projects under the Vietnam's Support Program to Respond to Climate Change (SP-RCC) and other afforestation projects.
 
Mr. Dung instructed the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in coordination with related agencies to assess and determine the investment capital for each project.
 
He has also decided to supply VND320 billion (US$14.98 million) for the implementation of forest stocktaking projects in the phase of 2014-2015 in 25 provinces and cities.
