The 2014 Golden Globe Awards and the Best Female Students Awards 2014 were presented to young talents at the Government’s Office in Hanoi on January 20 with attendance of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.

This year’s the Golden Globe Awards were given to 10 outstanding young individuals in the fields of  Information Technology (IT) and Communication, Medical and Pharmaceutical Technology, Biotechnology, and Environmental Technology.

The national award for youth in science and technology was kicked off in 2003, and held annually by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Meanwhile the Best Female Students Awards were offered 20 excellent female students in the fields of IT, which consist of electricity-electronics and mechanics.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam praised the winners' achievements and effors, expressing that the science and technology sector plays an important role in developing the country. He fostered young people’s creativity and encouraged them in study to contribute promoting this sector.
