Free treatment for wounded soldiers, veterans implemented

One of commemorative activities being held across Vietnam to mark the 69th War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27) is that free examination and medications to wounded soldiers, veterans, families prioritized under social welfare policies and poor farmers in Ho Chi Minh City’s Cu Chi district.

The city’s fund to support poor veterans July 23 and Youth Communist Union of the municipal Department of Health and 50 medical workers from hospitals 115, Hung Vuong Maternity, Gia Dinh, Hoc Mon and Heart Institute provided gratis examination, treatment and medications to 300 wounded soldiers, veterans, families prioritized under social welfare policies and poor farmers in communes Trung Lap Thuong and Trung Lap Ha in Cu Chi District.

On the occasion, the fund also presented 6 bank accounts each worth VND5 million (US$224) to six seriously wounded soldiers, mothers of martyrs and families of people who served in the country’s revolution in Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Binh, Tan Phu, Phu Nhuan, Cu Chi , Binh Chanh and Nha Be districts.

Additionally, the fund also encouraged Tien Loc Corporation, Anh Duong Company and Ngoc Yen Company to give 200 gifts worth VND120 million (US$5,380) for 200 veterans in district 8 and Binh Chanh district.
