The blaze destroyed 13 hectares of protective forest under eye of the Management Board of Tam Dao National Park.
Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hoang Nong commune Mr. Nguyen Anh Tan reported that the local authorities mobilized functional forces, forest protection officers, fire fighters and more than 200 local people urgently to extinguish the fire after receiving the information.
Due to serious hot weather condition without rain, the flame quickly spread to the neighboring forest of Tien Thanh village of La Bang commune.
By 6pm, the flame was temporarily controlled in La Bang commune but it had not been extinguished completely in Hoang Nong commune.
On the same day, another forest fire occurred in Dai Tu district at 2pm. Till 7 pm, it had not yet controlled.
The functional forces continue investigating into the cases.
