A composite-shell trip boat, built by Bao Duy Shipyard, was launched yesterday at the Tho Quang Fishing Wharf in Son Tra District in the central city of Da Nang after 8 months of construction.
The 19.25m-long and 8.3m-wide boat named Merryland, the first of its kind, can carry 144 passengers. It has a catamaran hull, three decks and 2 engines of 174 CV.
It costs VND13 billion.
The design of the ship, which includes a restaurant and bar area, was approved by the Viet Nam Register (VR), whilst technical supervision was given by VR Office No 4.
After the launch, the ship will serve tourists on the Han River before Tet holiday ( the Lunar New Year), said Deputy Head of Bao Duy Company Nguyen Van Tam.
