Festival Honors Revolutionary Martyrs in Con Dao

A festival featuring art and cultural activities will honor 20,000 revolutionary martyrs on Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province’s Con Dao Island to mark the 60th anniversary of the  Dead and Wounded Soldiers' Day (27 July), held in Ho Chi Minh City and Con Dao District.

The event includes a photography exhibition entitled “Con Dao Today” which is on display at the HCMC War Remnants Museum from now until August 15, and at the Museum of Con Dao District from July 25 to August 25.

A photography-training course for officials of the Con Dao District Department of Culture, Art and Sport, and a “Business Culture – Businessmen’s duties to the community” talk will take place at the office of the People’s Committee of Con Dao District on July 26.

One of the festival highlights will be a musical performance at the district’s Hang Duong martyr cemetery on July 25, entitled “Con Dao – Immortal Epic”. The performance involves the participation of nearly 400 artists from around the country.

There are many other traditional and folk cultural activities to see and do during the festival in Con Dao District; there will be a painting competition for children, a commemorative ceremony, etc.

The Ho Chi Minh City Journalist's Association, HCMC War Veteran Association and HCMC Photography and Cultural Services Joint Stock Company are responsible for the joint organization of the event.
