Speaking at a conference in Dien Bien Phu City on May 6 to discuss tourism development in the region, he said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should work with diplomatic agencies, international organisations, and foreign businesses to boost investment in the region’s tourism.

He said related agencies should consider measures to improve traffic and hotel infrastructure and strengthen international cooperation in tourism.

He said the tourism industry should focus on training human resources, diversifying tourism products, and draft a tourism development plan in which the northwest would focus on community tourism.

Attendees listed the region’s tourism strengths, potential, and incentives to attract investment.

The conference was organised by the Northwest Steering Committee, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Dien Bien Province people’s committee.
