In his guideline, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh asked to strictly punish those who abused and tortured kids in cases lately.

The deputy PM said that these days, a flood of newspaper articles on child abuse in some localities caused public anger badly affecting the social security order.
For instance, a seven year old girl was tortured with heated iron by her father and stepmother in the Mekong delta province of Kien Giang; a babysitter in the northern province of Ha Nam violently lifted the two-month-old baby into the air and babysitters of Mam Xanh daycare center in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 12 beat kids with plastic casks.
The Deputy PM asked the Ministry of Public Security and relevant agencies , people’s committees to probe the cases and impose harsh penalties on those involved as per the law.
Any organizations, individuals that covered the cases intentionally or handle tardily will also receive severe penalties.
Concerning to the murder of 20-day-old child by grandmother out of superstitious beliefs in the northern province of Thanh Hoa, investigators must verify the role of fortune –teller in the heartbreaking case to have adequate punishment.
The investigation results must be submitted to the PM before December 31.
