Dau Tieng Irrigation Reservoir will release its floodwater at 150 cubic meters per second during 24 hours from November 21- 26, aiming to ensure the reservoir safety and reduce flood level in the downstream Sai Gon River, reported the Ho Chi Minh City Steering Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue.
Director of Dau Tieng- Phuoc Hoa Irrigation Exploitation Company Mr. Le Van Dung yesterday said that the current highest water level reaches at 23. 59 meters compared to its capacity of 24.4 meters.
According to the Southern region’s Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center, the water level will be at 1. 3 meters at Phu An station on Sai Gon River. This is the fourth time that the company has released water.
The 24 hour water release from Dau Tieng irrigation reservoir paralleling low tide will not impact to Ho Chi Minh City. The Ho Chi Minh City Steering Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue asked the Dau Tieng- Phuoc Hoa Company must control its water release following the flood release process, keep eyes for the daily weather condition.
