The Prime Minister has permitted the Ministry of Transport to implement a BOT project to build the first out of two parts of Dai Ngai Bridge, which will reduce the distance between Ho Chi Minh City and Soc Trang province by 70 kilometers.

The bridge is a significant work in Highway 60 and expected to complete in 2018 to link Tra Vinh up to Soc Trang province in the Mekong Delta.

The PM has also allowed the ministry to decide toll collection method in accordance with the law and his instructions.

Dai Ngai Bridge will help exploit strengths to develop Mekong Delta provinces including Tra Vinh, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu and Ca Mau.

Soc Trang-HCMC distance will be cut short saving transport costs and ease traffic pressure for the National Highway 1A.
