Cu Chi District achieves gov’t new rural development plan

Since implementation of the Government’s New Rural Development Plan, Cu Chi District in Ho Chi Minh City has been recognized to reach standards of the plan.

Since implementation of the Government’s New Rural Development Plan, Cu Chi District in Ho Chi Minh City has been recognized to reach standards of the plan.

The decision to recognize Cu Chi District as one of district to achieve standard of the Government’s New Rural Development Plan was signed by the Prime Minister.

Cu Chi District with 20 communes and one town is a suburban district of Ho Chi Minh City. Now, it has 20 over 20 communes all of which reach the standard. The district has invested in 903 constructions and average per capita income  of VND40 million (US$1,851) per year.

The rate of poverty households in 2014 is just 3.8 percent and most of residents can access fresh water source.

After two years since implementation of the renovation plan, the district has a completely new look.
