Cross section of Da Nang-Quang Ngai Expressway breaks ground

The Ministry of Transport kicked off construction for the 15 kilometer cross section of the Da Nang-Quang Ngai Expressway on November 24.

The 15 kilometer cross section will run through Binh Son and Son Tinh Districts in the central province of Quang Ngai and will include a bridge, bicycle and pedestrian lanes, and a drainage system.
 
The VND1.4 billion (US$61,619) World Bank funded 26 meter wide four-lane Da Nang-Quang Ngai Expressway stretches for nearly 140km, permitting speeds of upto 120kmh.

Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony held in Quang Ngai Province, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc stressed that the Da Nang-Quang Ngai Expressway plays an important role in the development and growth of the Laos-Cambodia-Vietnam economic triangle via the North-South economic corridor as well as connecting with economic hubs such as Da Nang-Chu Lai (Quang Nam Province), Dung Quat (Quang Ngai Province) and Nhon Hoi (Binh Dinh Province).
