Dong Thap province has seen 26 landslides this year, losing tens of billions of dong in damage. The worst hit is Long Thuan commune, Hong Ngu district where seven landslide spots have been recorded.

Nearly 2,000 households are still living in landslide prone areas because local authorities have met with difficulties in capital and land fund for evacuation, according to statistics from authorized agencies in the province.

An Giang Province has tens of dangerous landslide spots. About 250 square meter land fell into Hau River in Long Xuyen Town on September 10.

The province’s Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention reported 150 landslide spots along 2,600 meters which are in need of repair to protect residents’ lives and properties.
