At a meeting with the Vietnam Development Bank yesterday in Ha Noi, Minster of Health Nguyen Quoc Trieu requested the bank to give low interest loans to large state-owned hospitals in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City as they need the funds to renovate and rebuild their facilities, and purchase new modern equipment.

Leaders from the Vietnam Development Bank asserted that the bank is ready to help the hospitals improve their quality of treatment  and that loans with preferential interest rates will be given to the hospitals based on their actual needs.

At present, most large state-owned hospitals in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City are overrun with more patients than their capacity allows.
