Contest launched for wildlife protection among teenagers

A contest called “Teenagers with wildlife protection” was launched in Hanoi on April 10 by Vietnam’s Communist Youth Union and the Vietnam Environment Administration (VEA) under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

A contest called “Teenagers with wildlife protection” was launched in Hanoi on April 10 by Vietnam’s Communist Youth Union and the Vietnam Environment Administration (VEA) under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

The primary aim of the contest is to encourage young people to engage in wildlife conservation activities through combination between approaches and forms of entertainment. The contest also contributes to raise awareness of the importance of wildlife and lead young people to practical acts for biodiversity protection.

Members of youth unions, students and teenagers nationwide can take part in the competition, which focuses on raising awareness of the values of wildlife and the importance of wildlife and biodiversity protection.

Each contestant must submit their entries including songs, music performances, dances and dramas - recorded on CD or VCD made by an individual or by a group.

Entries must be sent to 64 Ba Trieu Street, Hanoi - the National Volunteer Centre from April 10 to May 10. 20 selected entries will be given prizes worth total VND40 million (US$1,897).

An awarding ceremony for the winners is scheduled in May 22 in Hanoi.
