Con Dao Island commemorates General Secretary Le Hong Phong

The southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau hosted an incense offering ceremony on the 110th birth anniversary of the late General Secretary Le Hong Phong on September 6, on the island district of Con Dao on Monday.

The ceremony was co-organized by some other provinces and cities, as well as ministries and departments of the southern region.

Le Thanh Hai, secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee led a delegation of State and Party leaders to the ceremony.

Among the participants were leaders from Dong Nai, Binh Thuan, Long An and Hau Giang Provinces, residents of Con Dao Island and 46 former political prisoners who were once held in Con Dao Jail.

They all burnt incense to commemorate late General Secretary Le Hong Phong, the faithful and loyal communist, preeminent leader of the Party, and an eminent resident of the nation.
