Commemorative House of Lao students opens in Bac Giang Province

The People’s Committee of Bac Giang Province, the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Defense, jointly inaugurated the Commemorative House on July 17 that has been built by Lao students who have studied and lived in Vietnam from 1960 to Laos’ Liberation Day.

The Commemorative House was built at a cost of about VND3.7 billion (US$176,000) from funds collected by the Lao students as a place to keep memories alive of all those who studied and lived in Vietnam.

The inauguration of the building marked the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Laos, and the 35th anniversary of the signing of the Friendship Treaty between the two countries.
