The Social Insurance Agency in the Mekong delta city of Can Tho has sued four companies for not paying social insurance debts of about VND6.25 billion (US$298,000).
The four companies include Panga Mekong Seafood owing VND1.4 billion, Construction and Building Materials No.3 owing VND699 million, Mechanical Project Repairing Construction 721 owing VND1.35 billion and the Transport Construction Company owing VND2.8 billion.
The Can Tho City’s social insurance agency has also asked agencies in its districts to sue any business that intentionally appropriates social insurance funds.
Ninh Kieu District has so far listed six businesses with unpaid social insurance fees. The businesses will all be taken to court if they continue to default on back payments.
Presently, Can Tho City is reeling under a VND25 billion (US$1.2 million) social insurance debt.
