At a recent meeting with the Binh Duong province People’s Committee, the experts reported that the route’s extension by six kilometers to Binh Duong needs to build 5.6 kilometers of overpasses and three stations.
Meanwhile lengthening the project by eight kilometers to Dong Nai requires construction of 7 kilometer flyovers, 500 meter special bridges and four stations.
The project comprises two phases. The first phase, expected to start in 2019-2022, will construct two kilometers from Suoi Tien station to Nut Giao station with the total cost of VND2,315 billion.
The second phase is scheduled to start after 2023 with the total capital of VND18,919 billion.
Calculations by Japanese experts are just an initial study step. Implementation needs to get agreement by localities and approval by the Ministry of Transport and the Prime Minister.
