Assoc Prof.Dr. Nguyen Tuyet Minh awarded Medal of Pushkin

Foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Lavrov awarded Medal of Pushkin 2017 to Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Tuyet Minh - Scientific Counsellor of the Russian World Reading Hall belonging to International Faculty of Hanoi National University with her efforts and contributions in strengthening friendship and cooperation between nations.

In addition, citizens of Pakistan, Lithuania and Hungary also received this prestigious awards.

Speaking at the ceremony at the office of Foreign Ministry of Russian Federation, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stressed that Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Tuyet Minh was the pioneer of teaching Russian language in Vietnam and she had trained from class for Russian talent people over 60 years.

The professor had ever participated in a cooperation project in compiling a Russian curriculum between Ministry of University and professional secondary school of Vietnam (currently known as Ministry of Education and Training) with Ministry of University of Russian Federation.

In 1986, she was invited to join in the project of Vietnamese – Russian dictionary under a cooperation program of Soviet Academy of Sciences (currently known as Russian Academy of Sciences) and the Social Sciences Committee (the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences).

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Tuyet Minh had been appointed as the Vice Dean of the Russian Language and Culture Faculty, Foreign Language University, Hanoi National University for 15 years in advance to become Scientific Counsellor of Hanoi National University.

The medal is awarded to the Russian Federation's citizens and foreigners for their outstanding achievements in the arts and culture, education, humanities and literature, and those who having great achievements in researching and preserving the national heritages as well as other achievements.

Recipient of the Pushkin Medal had to have at least 20 years of performance experience in fields of social sciences and humanities, as well.

More than 900 people from 90 countries, including 12 heads of state have been awarded the Medal of Pushkin.
