Art program honors War Invalids and Martyrs

An art program themed Khat vong doan tu (Aspiration for reunion) took place at the Defense Ministry’s Hall in Hanoi on July 27 marking the 68 th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day

An art program themed Khat vong doan tu (Aspiration for reunion) took place at the Defense Ministry’s Hall in Hanoi on July 27 marking the 68 th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day.

State President Truong Tan Sang, Chairman of Central Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Tong Thi Phong, Minister of National Defense General Phung Quang Thanh and Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam attended the event.

Speaking at the event, President Truong Tan Sang expressed deeply his gratitude to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, war martyrs, wounded soldiers and their families for their great contributions and sacrifices for national independence and freedom.

He also urged local authorities to support and take better care of heroic mothers, war veterans and policy beneficiary families as well as focus on searching, gathering and repatriating Vietnamese soldiers’ remains.

The show was organized by the Steering Committee for the Search and Repatriation of Remains of Fallen Soldiers, aiming to pay tribute to war martyrs, invalids and revolutionary contributors.

It also is chance to honor individuals and organizations who have make outstanding contribution to search for and repatriate the remains of fallen soldiers.

The program was broadcasted live on the Vietnam Television’s VTV1 channel and the Vietnam National Defense Television channel.
