Ambitious project to preserve Tram Chim National Park

The People’s Committee of Dong Thap Province has recently approved a project to preserve and sustainably develop the Tram Chim National Park until 2020 at a cost of VND208 billion.

The People’s Committee of Dong Thap Province has recently approved a project to preserve and sustainably develop the Tram Chim National Park until 2020 at a cost of VND208 billion.

The 7,313 hectare park will be divided into functional areas, such as the ecological area, tourist and services area, and a wildlife sanctuary.

The project aims to protect the ecosystem of the wetland and rare animal and plant species in Dong Thap Muoi; build an operational system to control flood level; and protect the red-crown cranes and the newly-recognized Ramsar site in Ca Mau Province.
