2,000 blankets given to needy people in North, Central

The Vietnam Red Cross Society yesterday in Hanoi received 2,000 blankets from Japanese Onward Kashiyama Company to support disadvantaged people in the North and central Vietnam.

2,000 blankets worth US$55,800 will be presented to poor residents and beneficiaries of social policies in 14 provinces in the mountainous Northern provinces in October, aiming to help local inhabitants face upcoming winter season.

Onward Kashiyama said the company will give additional 2,000 blankets to the Vietnam Red Cross Society in March next year to support another 20 provinces in the North and Central Vietnam.
