The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has penalized 11 business enterprises for polluting the environment in Thua Thien–Hue Province to the tune of over VND2 billion (US$100,000).
The eleven business enterprises were penalized for violating environment protection regulations that included release of untreated wastewater into the environment, not having wastewater treatment plants and discharging wastewater in excess of permitted levels.
The Tuynel Brick Joint Stock Company No.1 was penalized VND317.5 million ($15,875) and another paper manufacturing company VND250 million ($12,500).
