The Police Department of Criminal Investigation in Social Order has asked all police stations nationwide to take necessary measures to prevent and cripple syndicates involved in betting during Euro 2012 football matches from June 8 to July 2.

Police have been asked to crack down on betting and discourage people from all walks of life, especially students and company employees from indulging in betting in any form during the upcoming football matches in Ukraine.

According to the Police Department of Criminal Investigation in Social Order, police officials face difficulty in curbing betting activities as most of the betting is done via websites in countries where betting is a legal practice and payments are made by credit cards.
