Petrol company fined for selling substandard petrol

People Committee in the Mekong delta province of Ca Mau January 4 decided to fine of VND10 million (US$444.3) to Nguyen Chi Thanh company in  Thoi Binh District for selling low quality petrol.

People Committee in the Mekong delta province of Ca Mau January 4 decided to fine of VND10 million (US$444.3) to Nguyen Chi Thanh company in  Thoi Binh District for selling low quality petrol.

The committe ordered market management agency to seize a big quantity of substandard petrol. Before, local inhabitants’ motorcycles broke down in the street after they filled the vehicle with petrol in the company. 

Suspecting that the company sold substandard petrol, they informed authority.  After checking quality of petrol reserved at the company inspectors detected the company sold low quality to customers; therefore, they decided to issue fine to the company.

Additionally, the local government also imposed a fine of VND100 million (US$4,444) on the company for selling aquatic pesticide with permission.
