Customs officials at Noi Bai International Airport have seized over 6.5kg of drug hidden in luggage into Vietnam.
They detected some lumpiness in luggage belonging to a passenger holding Chinese passport when making a routine check for flight VN593 from Hong Kong to Hanoi on August 10.
They found 12 boxes containing yellow powder tucked away in the passenger’s suitcases. A quick test indicated that 1.984kg of the powder was positive for methamphetamine (AST) and 4.572kg for cocaine.
The passenger and all of the contraband were handed over Hanoi Police on August 11 for further investigation.
