Former police officer prosecuted for framing trap to bring man into prison

Former police officer Nguyen Thi Vung, born in 1978, in Hanoi was indicted for stockpiling narcotics and slander, investigation police yesterday announced.

Regarding the case that a local woman planted drugs in her boyfriend creating quite a splash in the public in April, 2019, the People's Procuracy of Nam Tu Liem District has asked to have more details.
As a result, investigators from the Ministry of Public Security have carried out investigation again.
At last, police investigators found out that Vung helped the woman in the case to plant heroin in her boyfriend’s car to put the woman’s boyfriend into prison.
Van, the woman and her boyfriend had conflicts plus jealousy; as a result, she wanted to put him into prison.
Van asked former policewoman to set up a plan to bring the man into prison. The policewoman allegedly received VND1 billion (US$43,000) while she was still in the force to frame the trap.
The policewoman supplied the woman with the narcotics that the woman eventually placed in the man’s car, unbeknownst to her boyfriend. Police officers were informed about drug in the car of the man who was arrested later.
