The company specializing in processing aquatic animal in Tra Vinh province’s Duyen Hai town was caught red –handed discharging blackish, foul-smelling water into Cau Dinh Canal.
The environment police in Tra Vinh Province and related agencies recorded the discharge with 10 meter cubic a day.
Test result carried out by the Environment and Natural Resource in Tra Vinh Province showed that the company effluent exceeded allowable limits; for instance, a final effluent sample had a biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) exceeding the standard 3.9 times or coliform exceeding 2,600 times.
In addition to the fine, the company was asked to remedy environment pollution and report its task within 30 days.
