Chinese female tourist found dead in Da Nang

The Da Nang Information and Communication Department confirmed to the press that a Chinese 57 year old female tourist died in the hotel in Phan Liem - Do Bi crossroad, Ngu Hanh Son district, central Da Nang city.

Previously, on May 28, the Chinese female tourist were discovered absent at the hotel room while all the items and belongings were still in the room. Noticing the unusual situation, the hotel staff had tried to look for her.

After two days of searching, about 5 pm on May 30, the hotel staff found that the victim had died in elevator tunnel. After identifying, the staff confirmed the body of the Chinese visitor who disappeared 2 days earlier.

After receiving the information, the authorities of Da Nang city including the Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Tourism, City Police, People's Procuracy Agency and local authorities together with the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China to Da Nang conducted site inspection and implemented all the legal measures in accordance with the provisions of Vietnamese law and international practice.

On the night of the incident, the city leaders sent deep condolences to the victim's family. At the same time, they directed the concerned agencies and units to expeditiously investigate the cause of the incident and actively support the victims' family.

The relevant authorities so far have supported the victim's family with legal procedures and sent the body to cremation. The Da Nang Investigation Police has received and investigated the case in accordance with the law.
