Breach in business practices to be penalized: Ministry

The Ministry of Health intends to administer a fine on any breach in business practices concerning cosmetics, medicines and medical equipment.

Any breach in business practices concerning cosmetics, medicines and medical equipment will be fined VND40 million (US$1,904)

According to the ministry, any breach in business practices concerning cosmetics, medicines and medical equipment will be fined VND40 million (US$1,904).

The fine will be applicable on infringements such as rubbing out the expiry date, contradictory indications, incorrect and not specified dosage on the label and any other unauthorized changes made after registering with the relevant health authorities.

Selling additive drugs and Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride (used to produce illegal methamphetamine) will be fined VND10-40million.

The decree on administering this penalty will take effect from 15 December 2011.
