The TAT Governor, Yuthasak Supasorn, said on January 10 that this year’s event will promote environmentally responsible tourism, as it helps protect and conserve natural resources.

The country’s largest domestic tourism festival is expected to welcome some 600,000 visitors and generate about 400 million baht in circulation, which is higher than the previous year at 390 million baht.

There will be exhibition zones to help visitors plan their vacations to different destinations of the country.

The TAT Governor added that the tourism sector in 2018 performed well as expected, with 38.1 million foreign visitors generating 1.99 trillion baht in revenue, while Thai people have made 167 million trips generating 1 trillion baht revenue, making the gross tourism revenue in 2018 being 3.05 trillion, which is 5 percent higher than in 2017.
