Warburg Pincus looks to invest in HCMC

Le Hoang Quan, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City held a meeting with Mr. Juster Kenneth, Managing Director of Warburg Pincus, a global investment firm, and expressed hope that the firm would make investments in the City.

Le Hoang Quan, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City held a meeting with Mr. Juster Kenneth, Managing Director of Warburg Pincus, a global investment firm, and expressed hope that the firm would make investments in the City.

At the meeting, Chairman Le Hoang Quan said that although the economy of HCMC has been affected by the global economic crisis, the City economy is beginning to stabilize and is showing recovery of late.

Currently, around 4,500 Foreign Direct Investment projects have invested in HCMC and the Hiep Phuoc Port Urban Area is also attracting more investments.

According to Mr. Juster Kenneth, Warburg Pincus has invested in many countries with a total of US$45 billion. Currently, Warburg Pincus is researching to invest in new markets, including the Vietnamese market, particularly in real estate and commercial centers.
