Vietnam Railway wants to upgrade Sai Gon Railway Station

Vietnam Railways has just submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Transport for the approval of its project on upgrading Sai Gon Railway Station.

Vietnam Railways wants to cooperate with nation's capable companies in customer services to upgrade the station.
Vietnam Railways also suggested that the Ministry of Transport to allow its board of members to have authority over the projects of using the total premises, renovating the infrastructure, selecting suitable investors, and signing contracts with chosen partners to lease the conditional use of the rail system in Saigon Railway Station.
Before the submit, Southern Airports Services Joint Stock Company (SASCO) has already offered cooperation with Vietnam Railways to completely renovate the premises of the first and second floors of Sai Gon Railway Station to better suit commercial purposes.
SASCO would then pay an annual rental fee for the use of the total premises of the Station in a duration of 5 years from the finishing time of renovation.
