Tu Du Maternity Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City opened two additional clinics on March 1 in order to solve the overcrowding issue.
The hospital upgraded the exam ward at 227 Cong Qunyh St. in District 1 and a new clinic for reproductive healthcare at 191 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai St. in District 1.
The clinics were built covering 29778 square meters and offer 500 beds, said Dr. Le Quang Thanh. He hopes that patients will no longer sit in hallways and share rooms.
The new facilities have a basement, eight floors and a terrace.
The new units increase exam capacity by 50 percent or 3,000 patients a day.
