Six press articles awarded prize on children rights, protection

The organizers of the prize of press article on children rights, protection announced 36 prizes worth VND136 million ($5,963).

The organizers including Press Association of Vietnam, Children Protection Association of Vietnam and Save the Children received 250 press works of 100 authors after they launched the prize in June 2017.
The prize - the first of its kind - aims to improve quality and effectiveness of press in protecting children rights. All entries have depicted real life of children nowadays, said the organizers.
In addition to writing about good examples in the society, good deed to help disadvantaged children, press works also reflected the society’s bad side on children including physical and spiritual violence, sexual and labor exploitation.
Amongst 36 official prizes, four excellent works were given VND10 million each.
The prize-giving ceremony was held on April 6.
